Souls Harbor Christian Academy was founded in 1979 under the vision and direction of Bishop James E. Varnum and Naomi Varnum.
The congregation of Souls Harbor First Pentecostal Church made significant sacrifices to finance, build, and equip the school because of a shared belief that children needed access to a sound education in an environment supportive of the Apostolic Pentecostal values taught at home.

Grandchildren of SHCA graduates are also now enrolled at the school.
This continuity reflects SHCA’s long-standing relationships with families and its connection to the Belleview community.
